Biography

Simon's diving career began when he was "informed" by a work colleague that his Open Water Diver course was starting in the cold, murky waters of Wraysbury in March 1999. From that point on, Simon developed a real passion for diving and completed his Advanced OPen Water course in Malta later that year, continuing to dive in Malta for the next two years on holiday, developing a love of wreck-diving.

Simon obtained his Rescue Diver qualification at Horsea Island in Portsmouth late in 2003, and began his Divemaster Internship in 2004 in the City of London and Horsea Island. Through being a Divemaster for two years, Simon discovered a love for teaching and fostering passion and enjoyment in student divers. In 2006, he took the final step and sat the Instructor Development Course at Rec-n-Tec. Simon went on to pass the Instructor Examination, qualifying as an Open Water Scuba Instructor, and now teaches with Alex and the staff at Rec-n-Tec.

Simon has also dived in the Red Sea, the Maldives and Bermuda. He is also an RYA qualified sailor and played rugby for London Welsh before focusing on teaching diving.
