Nova's introduction to scuba diving was one of those random sequences of events that change lives forever (in a good way!). She took her first breath underwater in Sicily in 1998 after her brother, an equine vet, was called to the aid of a dying horse. The horse pulled through and its owner happened to own a diving school... and the thanks just happened to be an exclusive weekend of boat diving off the Sicilian coast with one-on-one tuition. So nobody woke up with a horse's head in their bed and Nova's passion for scuba diving was cemented. Result!
Since then Nova has dived some interesting locations including many UK sites, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, the Med sea, the Dead sea, the Great Barrier Reef, the Caribbean...
Nova is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor and she loves the thrill of seeing the pleasure diving gives others. Her next goals are to complete her technical diving qualifications and also to gain her IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Divers) instructor rating so she can formally manage and lead diving experiences for her young nephew who was paralysed at the age of 5 in a car accident.
Just in case anyone is interested, Nova also teaches in French.
